Information: Prof. Dr. Andreas Hein founded the Division of Automation and Measurement Technologies
(AMT) in 2003 when he became a professor at the University of Oldenburg. The division belongs
to the Technical Computer Science within the Department of Informatics and part of the
interdisciplinary Institute for Complex Integrated Systems and Micro sensors (KISUM). Prof.
Hein and his division provide lectures in the engineering basics (Electrical Engineering, Control
Theory) and their technical applications in computer science (Medical Technology, Robotics). His
scientific fields of research are applications of measurement and automation technologies in
medicine, radiology and surgery with a special focus on modeling and parameterization of the
human body for diagnosis and interactive and co-operative systems for therapy.
