Sino-German interdisciplinary cooperation on the wearable computing and AAL

1 The Primary expectation of this symposium

  1. Informal cooperation directed towards joint publications;
  2. Regular joint projects (funded by Sino-German Center for Research Promotion);
  3. Joint Team and Proposals for larger long - term Interdisciplinary projects.

2   The symposium focus on the two themes:

  1. Ambient and/or body (wearable, portable or implantable) devices or systems to detect, monitor, communicate and process the health context of an individual.
  2. A roadmap of ambient assisted living systems supporting the aging society at home and at work. (Germany, China)
  3. The fundamental science and technology issues of ICT aiding senior life

3 Topics during or after the symposium:

  1. How to employ smart phone devices, tablet PCs, Web TV sets and video and audio analysis techniques for AAL;
  2. Beyond the “one sensor‐ one signal” and “one sensor‐ one disease”
;
  3. Long term effect of sensors on human body;
  4. More inclusive and user-friendly interfaces and interaction channels.

4 AAL as a useful model for China
