Exergames for Elderly and Parkinson Patients


Abstract: Games for rehabilitation are developing rapidly in recent years. It has been shown that utilization of therapy and gaming technology affects positively on the patient's physical and mental condition. However, nowadays, there are only few playable games for Parkinson's Disease patients and elderly. This talk presents the development process of a game suite, a collection of five motion-based games for Parkinson's patients, aimed to support their exercises routine in various playful environments. We describe the game design challenges for Parkinson's patients. Finally, the presented results indicated on positive affect on the majority of the patients, can be beneficial for future development in this fiel
